Trustpilot and
TripleReviews.

How the optional Trustpilot button works, what it sends, and the rules that come with it.

LAST UPDATED OCTOBER 8, 2026
IN PLAIN ENGLISH
01It’s off until you turn it on, for your own Trustpilot page.
02Every customer gets the same buttons. Nobody is picked.
03No Trustpilot button for experiences older than 12 months.
04We send Trustpilot nothing about your customers.
05Trustpilot labels these reviews “unprompted”.
06Turn it off anytime in Settings.
01

What it is.

An optional second review button.

TripleReviews can show a “Leave a Trustpilot Review” button on your review page, the page your review request email opens, after the Google button. It is off for every business until the owner turns it on.

TripleReviews is not a Trustpilot partner, and this is not a Trustpilot integration: the button is a plain link to your own Trustpilot page.

TripleReviews isn’t a review site: it doesn’t publish reviews or ratings of businesses, and reviews written through this button live only on Trustpilot.

02

Who turns it on.

Only you, for your own page.

In Settings, Review sites, add the link to your own Trustpilot page (it looks like trustpilot.com/review/yourwebsite.com). Once it is confirmed, a switch appears. Only the account owner can turn it on; nothing turns it on automatically, and our team can’t switch it on for you.

Add only a Trustpilot page that belongs to your business.

03

What the button does.

The same buttons for every customer.

Pressing it opens Trustpilot’s own review page for your business (Trustpilot’s free review link, which works on every Trustpilot plan). The customer writes and posts the review on Trustpilot; we never see or touch it.

Every customer gets the same buttons in the same order: Google first, then Trustpilot, then the video button and the private note. Someone who sends you a private note sees the same Google and Trustpilot buttons again on the thank-you page. We never decide who sees the Trustpilot button based on a rating or a private note, and we never ask for reviews on Yelp.

Trustpilot asks businesses to invite people only about recent experiences, so we hide the Trustpilot button for experiences older than 12 months. The page, the email and the thank-you page then look exactly as they do with Trustpilot off, with the Google button and everything else unchanged. It goes by the date of the experience, never by who the customer is: the job, visit or deal date from your connected CRM, your job webhook or a customer file we import for you, and when we don’t have one, the day the review request was made. A customer list you add yourself carries no dates, so add only recent customers while the button is on.

04

What is sent.

Your website domain, and nothing about customers.

To build the link we use only your website domain from the page you added. When a customer presses the button, their browser goes straight to Trustpilot. We send Trustpilot nothing about the customer: no name, email or phone number.

Coming soon: your TrustScore and newest Trustpilot reviews in your dashboard. This starts only once Trustpilot grants us access to its official API, and it isn’t switched on yet. Even then we send Trustpilot only your website domain, and we keep the last read for at most 24 hours. We never scrape Trustpilot.

05

How Trustpilot labels these reviews.

Unprompted, not verified.

Reviews written through this button are labelled “unprompted” by Trustpilot, not “verified”. Trustpilot’s verified invitations come from Trustpilot’s own invitation tools, which TripleReviews doesn’t send.

06

What reviewers need.

A Trustpilot account.

To post a review, a customer needs a Trustpilot account. Trustpilot asks them to sign in or sign up, which is free. Please don’t tell customers they can review you without an account.

07

The rules you follow.

Trustpilot’s guidelines for businesses.

If you turn the button on, you must follow Trustpilot’s guidelines for businesses and our acceptable use policy. In short:

  • invite every customer the same way, at the same point, whether their experience was good or bad;
  • one invitation per experience, only people who really bought from you, and only recent experiences: Trustpilot means about the last 12 months, so we hide the Trustpilot button for experiences older than 12 months, and you leave older customer lists out while the button is on;
  • never your staff, family, friends or shareholders;
  • no rewards, discounts or gifts for a review, no pressure, and never ask anyone to change or delete one, even after you fixed their problem;
  • neutral wording: never “only if you liked us” or “leave us 5 stars”;
  • never collect reviews on your own devices, such as a tablet at the counter;
  • no marketing or offers in the request (the TripleReviews email wording can’t be changed).

TripleReviews sends every customer the same email at the same point after the job, at most one request a year plus one reminder, and blocks reward wording. Who you add, and how you use the button, is your responsibility.

08

Turning it off.

Anytime, in Settings.

In Settings, Review sites, turn the Trustpilot switch off. The button disappears from your review page right away. To stop using your Trustpilot page in TripleReviews altogether, remove it there too.
